The Sibling Rivalry Tour feat. Jessica Lea Mayfield, David Mayfield & T. Hardy Morris

Nashville Sunday Night Presented by Lightning 100 and Yuengling!

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

This brother-and-sister team has had plenty of time to nurture their friendly rivalry. Home was the vintage tour bus belonging to their family band, One Way Rider; in its close quarters, the Kent, Ohio, natives spent hours honing their performance skills. The pair quickly gained attention for their individual talents, he with his formidable guitar and mandolin skills, she with her ballads portraying a spitfire personality forever haunted by the mess inherent in all close relationships. This is the first tour they’ve done together as adults, but their frequent appearances as an encore to Jessica’s shows reveal them to be unabashed cutups and total pros, commanding audiences with old-fashioned musicianship and duo-act wit. Their material ranges from bluegrass and old-time standards to new arrangements of each other’s solo catalog. T. Hardy Morris, of Dead Confederate and indie supergroup Diamond Rugs, opens the show. While his solo work has less righteous squall than either of his other bands, its Neil Young-meets-Elliot Smith vibe provides excellent counterpoint.
