Nudity w/Holy Youth & Music Band

Local trio Nudity are signed to petite Alabama indie Happenin Records and have so far released just one cassette (they’re working on a 45). Nevertheless, the group’s recordings boast tunes that wouldn’t be out of place on a big hit single — or a piece of classic ’90s fuzz-pop. Their music blends mean, psychedelic-tinged guitar licks, spacey synth tones and cool female vocals. They’re joined by labelmates Holy Youth, an Alabama foursome who display a talent for original, off-kilter garage-rock songs with a dissonant edge (their first LP appears in February), and by locals Music Band, a trio of scuzzy ’60s-style garage-rockers. If you’re susceptible to the charms of a catchy riff, this show is a must-see.
