Growing up around the music business, as the baby in a musical family, it was inevitable that Blair would be bitten by the music bug. From her humble beginnings as a singing toddler, delighting friends and family with impromptu shows, it was evident she was born to be an entertainer. Surrounded by the sounds of Motown, The Beatles, blues, classic rock, country and soul, Blair’s musical influences were deep and varied. From her first studio session at age seven in which she recorded her first composition, she displayed a natural and expressive voice virtually devoid of issues with pitch; amazing the studio engineer and providing a glimpse of what was to come.
Blair tried her hand at violin in her elementary school orchestra before moving on to piano in her early teen years. It was during college that her songwriting voice began to develop as her heart and soul flowed through the keys and spilled onto paper as a catharsis for dealing with the angst that so often is a part of growing up. That’s what makes Blair such a compelling singer/songwriter- the honesty and sincerity that comes from writing about the ups and downs of the human condition. Blair’s songs are real- not contrived with a perceived audience in mind- and that’s what makes them so universal… we all relate because we all experience the struggles and the joy that come from living. Blair’s soulful voice, insightful lyrics and melodic gift touch a place deep inside which lets us know that on some level we’re all in this together.
