Drinking and driving: generally a bad thing. Unless you’re a 16-year-old who can neither drink nor drive, and “Drinking and Driving” is a song by Oi!-era U.K. punk legends The Business — then it’s an awesome thing. Is there a better way to say, “Fuck your system” than singing a rousing chorus of “Knock it back / have another one / drinking and driving is so much fun”? No, there is not. It does take on a singularly odd note when you bust it out in front of your sorta-responsible thirty-something friends. Or if you sing it at a M.A.D.D. benefit. OK, so maybe “Drinking and Driving” isn’t the best message to be broadcasting to the world, but it’s one hell of a catchy tune, especially after you’ve had a few too many. Which is why we’ll be taking a cab to the club tonight.
