Honky Tonk Holiday w/Brazilbilly

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

Country music has a long tradition of great songs on the topic of what should be done with Santa — from George Jones’ momma twisting with Mr. Claus, to Loretta Lynn sending the bearded one to “heck” and Brenda Lee lassoing the jolly old elf. Lower Broad honky-tonk vets Brazilbilly are quite likely to know them all, and will be playing many more hillbilly Christmas classics at this special Christmas performance in the Hall of Fame’s Ford Theatre. Personally, I’m hoping to hear a version of Red Sovine’s 1963 recitation of “Is There Really a Santa Claus?” Free with museum admission.
