The sound of wind through the pines, bare feet brushing through leaves, snapping sticks like the spines of the weak. When we started we were small and strong at heart, five southern souls damned to speak the truth. But with this responsibility comes pain and loss. And as the years passed our numbers grew smaller, and there were four. This did not stop these brave soldiers of thought, keepers of truth. They were older now and their soft footsteps through the forest had grown louder and stronger. Like the dust filled hoof beats of a thousand wild horses, they layer sound like musket fire, their melodies bend and twist like train-tracks. A music shaped from the calloused hands and wrinkled faces of their fathers. They have walked through the fire wide-eyed and crazy, and came out enlightened. You cannot stop these men, your armies can’t cease their hands, dampen this thunder, or silence their tongues. We have trudged through the muddy swamps to freedom.

Our shoes are tattered and torn, but our feet are dry. As for our places in history, we will run naked through your streets before we sit decorated in your halls.

Brothers and St. Louis natives Justin (Vocals/Guitar) and Taylor DeRosa (Drums, Keys) formed Ravello in 2009 in Nashville, TN. The DeRosas had one goal in mind: to marry the honesty, attitudes, and nostalgic nature of their tenured influences with their own brand of modern rock. In 2010, Ravello began recording their first effort Asperatus EP. During these sessions Taylor Craft (Bass) joined the duo and added his flare to the sound of the band. The first installment of the Ravello catalog brought forth forward motion and jump started their career in Music City. The 2011 addition of Justin's childhood friend Chris Plank (Guitar) further shaped Ravello and molded the sound into what has been created through their forthcoming, full length LP.

Dream-Pop band Machines Are People Too formed in Chattanooga, TN in the sweaty summer months of '09 when Brian began writing vocals over JJ Clark's well-produced beats. The two began writing together and performing as Machines Are People Too at monthly dance parties with two keyboards, a laptop, and a microphone. Their self-released DIY EP consisted of 4 songs released only on cassette. Each hand-stamped tape included custom labels and provided you with a tangible alternative to free downloads.

After a year of dancing and playing with DJs, the duo was ready to expand their band and overall sound. Longtime friend, Cain Lassiter, was asked to blow his saxophone on a few tracks and proceeded to bring his other talents to the band. Now playing keys, Cain continues to add innovation to MRP2. Keeping the beat better than any beat machine and filling the gaps with style, drummer, Ivan Garcia became the perfect addition to Machines. The band's eclectic sound and progressive music creates a live show that leaves no toes untapped and will leave you with no other choice but to let go and dance.

Reverend Brandon Jazz (1986-current) is the founder and leader of The People’s Church, Inc., an organization shrouded in both mystery and skepticism. Jazz’s main activities involve the dissemination of glistening pop music, the staging of questionable performance-art type events, and the general audio/visual bewilderment of audiences worldwide. His Armed Forces incorporates the persuasive percussion of Nashville’s Drummer, Jerry Pentecost. Brandon Jazz and His Armed Forces have released a number of 7” singles and digital EPs, including 2010’s critically acclaimed RADICAL LUV EP, via Goldtooth, Inc., the music division of TPC, Inc. There is no such thing as a landlocked island, except the one where Sol Cat seems to live. It’s like a place where the mind isn’t fully aware of its surroundings, and confusion welcomes the creativity it inspires. Sol Cat’s eponymous self-released debut album doesn’t necessarily transport you to South Florida from Nashville, TN, but that is an appropriate enough concept. If Music City defines firm lines between genres, Sol Cat’s album champions redistricting, creating challenging new sounds in this arena of the traditional.

Think of a midnight drive somewhere warm, certainly the top is down, and yes, a beauty is in the passenger seat. The six-piece band suggests you can take this foggy, dreamlike scenario with you wherever you go. However, Sol Cat finds its own contentment and happiness in the valleys of Middle TN, grateful for the opportunity to tap into the mystical and spiritual musical foundation on which the land is built. The Athens of the South has an appeal any artist can feel — an enticing, drawing temptation.

Before relocating, Sol Cat’s members spent their time across the country, Miami to Los Angeles, New York City to The Gulf of Mexico. Musical influences span just as wide, yet an eclectic and oceanic resonance remains prevalent in their sound. Smooth grooves along the lines of George McCrae mix with semi-psych synth layers, while the likes of The Talking Heads and Laid Back inspire bouncy bass and slick guitar riffs.

With such a range of cultural and artistic influence, the creative process is equally interesting. Vocalist and writer Brett Hammann steers the musical direction of the band while guitarist Johnny Fisher leads the group into new and uncharted territory. Drummer Ryan Usher provides the rhythmic backbone for bassist Aaron Martin, who also acts as Sol Cat’s Art Director. Lead guitarist Jaan Cohan brings catchy licks and skills to melt any face, leaving keyboardist and studio engineer Jeremy Clark to play intuitively as the music essentially produces itself.

The group is now prepared and eager for the road, with its groundwork set for the message to spread. The Sol Cat sound is not as unfamiliar as it is forgotten; and those feelings and emotions poured into music past are ready to gracefully wash over a new generation.

Birdcloud met in Murfreesboro and immediately didn't like eachother. At a party in 2009 they had some whiskeys and became friends and started dicking around on guitar, writing their first song, a song about going down on your best friend, now lost to the sands of time. Despite a lukewarm reception at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, they have been sitting on eachother’s faces ever since, showing eachother their bruises and generally doing whatever they want when it works out that way.

The guitar/drum duo of Doug Lehmann and Stephanie Brush craft concise no frills songs, while performing them in similar fashion. Mystery Twins may only be in the first year of their career, but Lehmann and Brush have been playing together as one half of Nashville band The Clutters since 2001. This time, the pair have stripped not only the songs, but the instrumentation down to the core. Both share vocal duties, blending seamlessly into one voice, while the lack of a bass accents Brush's Wall of Sound drums.
