Album Release Party for The Future w/Tom Pappas (of Superdrag), Kat Smo, Jagged South Pole Dancers, Heavy Sole & The Gills

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — this is our favorite time of year for local music. The cover bands are at home rolling around in their filthy NYE lucre, and the national acts are just starting to trickle back into town, so there’s plenty of prime time for locals to shine. Seriously, local rock is the only thing that keeps our seasonal affective disorder from turning into Travis Bickle territory. And with that, we don our old army coats and head out for tonight’s double-live-gonzo spectacle at Exit/In. Motor City native Kat Smo’s new EP Streets of Detroit is a sleek and sexy pack of operatic aggro-grooves, while 20 Years of the Senator: The Tom Pappas Collection 1992-2012 is a greatest hits compilation of sorts that covers all the bands that Superdrag/Flesh Vehicle bassist Tom Pappas has ever been in. Which is a fucking lot, if you’ve been keeping track.
