What better way to send out the old year and welcome the new one than with an outstanding evening of local hip-hop? Consider it a warning shot over the bow of 2012, or just a way of saying, “Watch out world, we’re coming with the hotness.” Ducko McFli had a helluva year (including tours, albums and everything else you read about in our Best of Nashville and Year in Music issues). Isaiah Rashad is one of the hottest rappers on our radar right now, even if he’s under everybody else’s. And Kaby’s new video for “Cigarette Holiday” is one of our new favorites. We’re not sure why we’re just now finding out about Rikki Blu, but damn, the kid’s got a burly voice and a tight flow.
