It all began a few years ago. Chloe started uploading covers to YouTube and Taylor suggested she write her own songs to stand out from the crowd. Chloe made attempts, but ultimately felt she couldn’t come up with something that was good enough. So Taylor, determined not to give up on her, asked Chloe to teach her a few chords on guitar, and shortly after, wrote her first song (“Glass Slipper”).
Chasing Lovely will be releasing their debut CD fall of 2012, thanks to amazing Kickstarter supporters who made their campaign a success! It will be an EP of six original songs and they’re very excited to have Grammy and CMA award-winning musicians in Nashville working with them on this record.
The sisters lives are a living musical. They sing around the house, in the car, at the grocery store…they harmonize under their breaths and rarely realize they're doing it. When they were little, mom played Broadway tunes in the car, they went to sleep to Bible songs and Beethoven, and sang karaoke to Hilary Duff and the Dixie Chicks.
They didn’t start singing together until late spring 2010. First in unison, then to change things up they took turns—one singing, then the other. They started uploading their original songs to YouTube, but it wasn’t until they began performing out around Minneapolis that they started to take “this whole music thing” seriously.
They begged their mom to take a trip to Nashville. Being country music artists, that seemed like the place to be. So during the summer of 2010 they took a road trip and stayed down there for a week, practicing in a hotel room and playing the local open-mics. To justify the trip, Mom suggested Taylor visit colleges while there. After setting foot on the Belmont University campus, she was convinced that it was the place she needed to be.
When they discovered the power of harmonies a few months later it changed everything.
Taylor graduated high school on June 15th and the family of three uprooted and moved to Nashville July 2011 (pulled into town on June 27th). With only a two-month summer break, Chloe started her junior year of high school in mid-August and Taylor started her freshman year at Belmont a couple weeks later.
