New Years Eve At The Fox feat. Pujol, Slammers, D. Watusi, Ranch Ghost & RIcHIE

Well, if local punk, indie and garage rock is your poison, you’ve got a bit of a tough call on your hands this evening. You could indeed go with Diarrhea Planet, Tristen, Promised Land and the rest at The End — as picked by my colleague Lance Conzett previously in this section — and no one would doubt your inherent punk-slash-indieness. Initially slated to take place at Fort Houston (the new home to the cats behind The Zombie Shop and Brick Factory), tonight’s Stone Fox show features a cast of true rock ’n’ rollin’ locals, from the philosophical and brainy breakneck punk of PUJOL to the rip-roaring shredding and laugh-along choruses of Ri¢hie and more. Hardworking psychedelians Ranch Ghost, proto-punkins D. Watusi and hardcore punkers Slammers (an outfit featuring members of JEFF the Brotherhood, Heavy Cream, and Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders) fill out the bill. Plus DJ James Cathcart will spin some choice records. Not your only choice for tonight, but certainly a solid one.
