I refuse to write my bio in the third person. I was born and raised in Monticello, Arkansas. I have the best parents in the world, and they gave me every opportunity a mom and dad could give to pursue music. They hauled me all over Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana playing gigs for $40 dollars a night. Mostly Jamborees and shows of that nature. I had my own band in high school and college, but we just did cover stuff at parties. There was no real future for me in that town.
When I was 20, I went to Ft. Worth to see Charlie Robison play at Billy Bobs, and got a ticket for minor in possession of a beer. I didn't have enough money to pay the ticket, and I hated college, so I moved to Michigan and worked for 3 months for a tomato broker to save up for the fine. I figured, as long as I had money, why not move to Nashville. And here I am.
I've written songs for the last 8 years professionally, and have had cuts by Sammy Kershaw, Bucky Covington, Carolina Rain, Buddy Jewel, and The Roys. I also had a single out of my own on a small independent label a couple years ago, that broke the top 60 for about 5 minutes called, "Don't Open That Door." I am currently the lead singer of The Beagles(Me, Rick Huckaby, Matt Nolen) and our debut album, Meet The Beagles, is available on iTunes. www.bandofbeagles.com
