Payton Taylor is a Southern New Jersey native who remembers singing since she was barely able to speak. Never one to shy away from a stage, Payton jumped at any opportunity to perform; church events, school plays, local festivals, and anywhere else that would let her get up and sing, all witnessed this tenacious little girl’s love of performing. But it wasn’t until the summer of 2009 that the then 12-year-old Payton discovered her true passion for singing – Country Music.
During a trip to Nashville, Tennessee in August 2009, Payton was invited to jump on stage at a local music venue and perform a couple of songs. “That’s when I knew I wanted to sing Country Music for the rest of my life,” says Taylor, “During that trip, I fell in love with Nashville – it’s music, history, and its culture.” Now, only two years later, Payton has released a 5-song EP, produced entirely in Nashville, she was a finalist for the 2011 Texaco Country Showdown, she has opened for Country Superstars, Collin Raye, Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis, and she will be opening for the legendary Charlie Daniels Band in May of 2012. In addition, she has been featured on several television shows, including CBS Philadelphia’s “Talk Philly” and “The Shotgun Red Variety Show” on national network, RFD-TV. Payton has been featured in publications such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Washington Township Sun, South Jersey Magazine, and the Gloucester Township Patch. She has performed throughout the Northeast and in Nashville, including venues such as The Hard Rock Café (Nashville, Chicago, & Atlantic City), The Cadillac Ranch, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Rippy’s Barbecue, Belcourt Taps & Tapas, The Commodore Grille, The Bluebird Café, Layla’s Bluegrass Inn, and many others.
