Donnie Winters was raised in a music family. His dad, Don Winters was a great singer, who sang back up and toured with country legend Marty Robbins for 23 years. Growing up, Marty was like an uncle to Donnie and his brother Dennis. Marty even recorded 10 of Donnie and Dennis' songs. Donnie and Dennis would later form the popular Winters Brothers Band that toured along side bands such as the Marshall Tucker Band and Charlie Daniels Band playing festivals and arenas aound the country. In April of 2000 Donnie took his engineering skills to the famous Sutler Saloon in Nashville where he worked as the house soundman. He would often get onstage with his dobro or guitar to join in with some of music city's best songwriters. When the Sutler closed in December 2005 it was a sad day, but it was good news for many because Donnie Winters the guitar player was back. When he's not playing with the Winters Brothers Band band you can catch him playing with Scott Rath, Tony Heatherly, the great Joe Sun, Davis Raines & The Faders, Teddy Larkin & Scary Wagon, The Reigning Hounds, and lots of other great acts in Nashville, Greenville SC or anywhere around the Country!
