Curren$y w/Dee Goodz & Ducko McFli
Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …
Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts, put your blunts and bongs in their upright positions and prepare for takeoff. Today we’ll be traveling at 30,000 feet, just above the clouds of purple smoke with your captain, Curren$y. The New Orleans rapper, in town to support his 2012 album The Stoned Immaculate, is the Duke of Dope, the Sultan of Sinsemilla, the High Priest of Hashish. Which is to say, he’s the first weed-rap act since Cypress Hill who can talk about how much weed he smokes without boring the hell out of us. We’re right there with ya, man! The Fly Spitta is joined by Dee Goodz, whose swirling indie-psych-hop EP The Higher is an instant bone-cruise classic, and Ducko McFli, who just released “NIYS,” a blazing new single with MC-of-the-moment Trinidad “All Gold Everything” Jame$.
