There are few things we enjoy more than power pop and Drivin’ N Cryin’, so we pretty much flipped our lids when we got the new album from DNC guitarist Sadler Vaden’s solo project. Vaden, a recent transplant from South Carolina and quite possibly the hottest young gunslinger in town, has a knack for songcraft and out-of-control skills on the six-string. His brand of Who-inspired power pop has a distinctly Southern bent, channeling the spirit of Big Star through Tom Petty’s drawl — a sound as vital as it is classic. Vaden and crew join the country-rock all-star outfit Wild Feathers on the second night of their monthlong residency on Cannery Row.
