Nashville Pioneers Pep Rally/Dance Party feat. Wild Cub, Queer Dance Party’s DJ La Force and DJ Jeremy “Coach” Todd

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

Self-described as Nashville’s only “official professional” basketball team, the Nashville Pioneers … well, they haven’t exactly had a real game yet. Also, none of the team members are true professional athletes, though many of them are true professional musicians. Headed by Adrien Saporiti of DCXV Clothing, the Pioneers’ roster features local rock ’n’ rollers like William Tyler, Heypenny frontman Ben Elkins, Evan P. Donohue, rapper Chancellor Warhol and more. Earlier this week, the Pioneers sent Saporiti to South Korea for their first game. As of press time, we have no idea how that went, or how exactly one player can represent his whole team for a basketball game, or whether or not any of this is actually genuinely legit. But hey, as noted by the team members themselves, it’s not like anyone else was attempting to be Nashville’s official basketball team. Tonight, the ’Neers host a pep rally and party to celebrate their “triumphant return from their game in Korea.” We’re not experts, but aren’t pep rallies supposed to take place before the game? No matter. Queer Dance Party’s DJ La Force, DJ Jeremy “Coach” Todd and electro-pop outfit Wild Cub will take turns on the wheels of steel. Best part? Proceeds from the event will go to Nashville non-profit youth-outreach program the Oasis Center.
