Jonah, whose name comes from the Biblical character of yore, was raised in Evanston, IL to a painter and a philosophy professor. He began his musical training at age six on the cello, an instrument to which he would later return. In his teens, he was playing guitar at the New England Conservatory of Music. He landed a job as a guitar instructor and assistant to Ran Blake upon graduation. Jonah's music is known for its sweeping stylistic range thanks to the ability of playing American genres (Jazz, Blues, etc) as well as South and Latin-American, African, and European styles. Jonah’s resume also includes work as a producer for Ran Blake, The Existants and The Patrons, performances with Eli 'Paperboy' Reed and Anne Heaton, and as a composer for the films BAITED, and HOUSE ON THE HILL. He has also performed numerous shows in New York City, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Raleigh and Nashville. Jonah Kraut currently lives in Nashville, TN.
