Studied saxophone and played in big bands at the University of Illinois (1994-7) and at Middle Tennessee State University (2005-6). Trained in voice and saxophone at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, and has studied with voice teachers Dr. Jennifer Coleman, Sandra Dudley, Diana Spradling (W. Michigan) and Ron Browning. Certified in vocal instruction by the Northwest Institute of Voice (2011) and currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Commercial Vocal Performance. Has performed with Mark Levine, Roy McCurdy, Rod McGaha, Jeff Coffin, Phil Woods, Beegie Adair, Derrick Phillips, Tom Giampietro, Roger Spencer, Lori Mechem and other noteable Nashvillle jazz musicians. Has three full-length recordings, One More for the Road (2001), Playground (2003) and Joy Unspeakable (2011). Has been featured on the nationally syndicated jazz radio program Jazz with Bob Parlocha, and was selected as one of only two Americans to perform at the 2004 World Vocal Competition held at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Has performed with Establishment Big Band and the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, and has taught at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, The W.O. Smith Community Music School and the East Nashville School of Music.
