With 2012 performances at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the Tennessee State Fair, summer festivals, clubs and some backwoods bars off the beaten path, Dom Wier builds upon four years of touring and recording with the release of new songs…one at a time. The road of this particular songwriter has brought lots of miles driven down long highways and sharing show bills with acts like Foghat, Shooter Jennings, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Toto, among others. The single “American Son” released October 16th, 2012 is not some lame attempt at patriotic songwriting. It is rather a bare bones americana, country rock track that deals with the uncertainty we all face, while trying to maintain resilience and hope. A free single download, “History With The Highway” was released Nov. 27th, 2012.
Originally from the banks of the Mississippi River in Fairview Heights, IL near St. Louis, MO, Dom Wier is a Roots Rock/Country/Americana styled songwriter based in Nashville, TN. After cutting his teeth playing guitar and/or singing in different bands in the St. Louis scene, including the rock outfit Tainted Wisdom, Dom moved to Nashville in late 2005 to immerse himself in music and songwriting. He quickly started performing at clubs all over town, meeting people and getting involved in the music community.
Two EPs “Jaded Dreamer” (2009) and “After The Flood” (2011) were produced and recorded with grammy winning engineer Nick Autry at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, TN. The music can be described as Roots Rock with a strong vocal delivery of Americana, Southern and Country influenced lyrics. Look for Dom Wier on the road with his full band or acoustically. The future is wide open.
