Dick Dale

Pop/Rock
Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

At the age of 75, Dick Dale is still going strong, demonstrating on a regular basis just how he earned his title as “King of the Surf Guitar.” But don’t expect an oldies act when he takes the stage. The willfulness and iconoclastic attitude that drove him musically and technologically (he was an innovator of electric guitar in the early 1960s) is still there after five decades of some of the fastest picking on the thickest guitar strings known to man. Sure, he’ll probably play his most famous numbers like “Miserlou,” and “Let’s Go Tripping,” but the show you’ll see is the show that Dick Dale wants you to see, and what else would you expect from a king? With local surf-popsters *repeat, repeat along for the ride, prepare yourself for maximum reverbification.
