Singer and songwriter Jami Grooms is the type of performer who just lays it all out on the stage every night, and lets the audience share the moment with him.
Together with the Catfish Johnston Band, he has entertained every type of crowd one can
possibly imagine, honing his craft while playing one night stands, as a house band at the famous Wildhorse Saloon and opening for acts such as Sammy Kershaw, Confederate Railroad, John Snyder, and Jamey Johnson. Writing songs under the guidance of Legendary Muscle Shoals Producer Rick Hall, at FAME Music, Jami has had songs cut by artist like Matt Kennon, and Buddy Jewel, as well as several up and coming acts.
After a lifetime in the rural areas of Arkansas, Alabama, and Tennessee, Jami was influenced
greatly by the truthfulness of country music. Through the eyes of the youthful crowds he draws, he found a love for the new sounds of rock and roll. Jami is among few artists who have blended these two sounds together flawlessly, with true grit and conviction. He enjoys the life he has chosen.
Jami's music, whether recorded or live, is best described as an edgy and raw sound that is honest and real. "It is going to be a party wherever we play," is how Jami would say it, and then add, “I just love playing music.”
With a strong following, a loving and supportive wife, and with the grace of God, Jami is confident he will find the dream he is chasing. In so many ways, he has already.
Music is that which drew him to Nashville the morning after he graduated high school in Piggott Arkansas. Life is that which gave him the unique sound that is distinctly Jami Grooms.
