Mark Robinson Album Release

Blues
Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

Nashville picker Mark Robinson’s name just appeared on music mag The Alternate Root’s list of the “Top 20 Roots Guitar Players” — an honor earned via a flexible virtuosity honed across three decades of gigs in gritty roadhouses, dingy Chicago blues clubs (with Koko Taylor, Jimmy Johnson, etc.) and of course, Nashville’s studios and stages, where he’s supported Tommy Womack, Tracy Nelson, Davis Raines and others. Two years ago, his autobiographically titled debut solo album Quit Your Job — Play Guitar ended up on myriad roots ’n’ blues Top 10 lists, also showcasing his skills as a singer, songwriter and producer. His stomping brand-new follow-up Have Axe — Will Groove seems destined for the same. Robinson celebrates with a concert where he’ll be supported by fellow Music City A-Teamers bassist Daniel Seymour, drummer Paul Griffith, pianist Mark T. Jordan, saxist Ben Graves and backing singers Vickie Carrico and Dana McVicker. Songwriter Raines opens solo.
