Will Hastings is a New Orleans-born, Nashville-bred singer-songwriter currently based in downtown Charleston, SC.
In 2010, Hastings teamed up with local independent producer Ryan Patrick Zimmerman (Sequoyah Prep School, Brave Baby, Sun-Dried Vibes) to record an 8-song EP, "Broken Soul Music". Hastings wrote all words and music, and played all instruments other than percussion. In 2012, Hastings returned to the studio with Zimmerman to record his sophomore effort, "My Human Condition" which garnered local press and was released with a headlining show at the Charleston Pour House. The album was live-tracked in a storage container. Lacking a permanent band, Hastings assembled a team of session players and (alongside Zimmerman) co-produced this raucous five-track EP. It is a testament to his maturation as a song-writer, vocalist, and band-leader. It's lead-off single, "Earlybird" accrued generous airplay on Charleston's 105.5 "The Bridge" and was selected as "The Song of the Fortnight" by Mark Bryan (Hootie and the Blowfish) and his Chucktown Music Group
