Originally forming in 2008, Static Calm has been on a steady rise out of the "Queen City", Clarksville, Tennessee. The original lineup consisted of Tyler Baxter, Jonny Sambo, and Isaac Mullis, with Jonny and Tyler handling vocal duties, as well as guitar and bass respectively. There was no issue in writing out tunes, but the sound still felt undeveloped. In the summer of 2010, Matt Robertson joined the band to share joint guitar duties with Jonny, and finally the sound was full, powerful, and ready to be heard. Static Calm began playing shows, writing and rehearsing newer and more fresh music drawing upon the member's influences, and a five song demo CD was prepared. After acquiring some merch to spread the word, Static Calm discovered a silent issue with our sound. The instrumentation and vocals were facing a push/pull situation. To counter this, and add yet another dynamic and timbre to the growing sound of Static Calm, Jake Oland was brought into the fold and quickly became the voice of the "Grunge Metal" sound. Many songs have been added and changed since Static Calm's beginnings, but a finished track list and a title; "In My Own Mind" crowned what would become the full length LP record from inside Niko Records Studio. Since then, Static Calm has been preparing "In My Own Mind" for release, playing relentless live shows, and building a strong local fan base with which the band can propel itself forward.
