Dot Commies formed in Nashville (specifically East Nashville) in 2010 with one mission: Pay tribute to the greatest decade known to mankind: THE 90's.
While we tend to play more rock than other genres, we want to pay allegiance to a musical and cultural era that we are most attached to. Yes, we grew up in the 1990's, so that certainly has something to do with it, general good vibes from high school, and nostalgia. But it's more than that. The 90's appears to be the last decade of innovative, GREAT music. There will always be good music, but as we get further and further away from the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, early U2, and great classic rock for example, it's harder and harder to find great music. Great music is out there, it just isn't popular. The last time it was.....the 90's.
