Lamb of God w/Decapitated & Anciients

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

Local groove- and thrash-metal fans are lucky to see Lamb of God roll through town under any circumstances. The contemporary kings of the genre haven’t hit Nashville since opening for Metallica’s 2009 Music City stop. But a tragedy in the Czech Republic threatened to derail the Richmond, Va., quintet for good. In February, singer Randy Blythe stood trial in Prague, where he was jailed and charged with manslaughter for the 2010 death of a fan who was thrown from the stage, allegedly by Blythe, during one of the band’s concerts. The singer, who steadfastly proclaimed his innocence, and who garnered the support of fans worldwide as a heavy-metal cause célèbre, was acquitted after the six-day trial. Had it gone the other way, Blythe would’ve faced up to a decade in a Czech prison. It’s been a tough year for a tough band, and the unfortunate events overshadowed the touring and publicity push for the band’s acclaimed 2012 headbanger Resolution. Come see the band make up for lost time tonight. Decapitated and Terror open.
