Bianca's Upset II feat. Those Darlins, The Jane Shermans & Adia Victoria
Fans of local country-punk starlets (and drummer dude Linwood Regensberg) Those Darlins have long been awaiting the follow-up to 2011’s Screws Get Loose. Loose was an evolutionary step for the Darlins, taking them from kitschy kitchen country to lush, Southern-edged indie rock — attitude still intact, of course. Well, good news for fans: The Darlins start work on their next LP this month with noted Nashville producer Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater-Kinney, Lambchop), and tonight they’ll be “trying out tons of new material.” Tonight marks the second installment of the Bianca’s Upset performance series at local art space Ovvio Arte. Ovvio is run by husband-and-wife team Veta Cicolello and Theo Antoniadis, who’ve shot album art and videos for Those Darlins as well as openers The Jane Shermans. Also performing will be fellow Nashvillian Adia Victoria. This summer, the Darlins will play a handful of Mumford and Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road Stopover dates, so this could be your last shot for a while at seeing them in, you know, a venue that’s smaller than a stadium.
