Plastic Visions w/Concord America & SchoolsPop/Rock
Let’s get weird on Saturday night, y’all. Locals Plastic Visions, featuring cousins Kane Stewart and Brad Schultz (of Cage the Elephant), play relentlessly blown-out, scuzzy rock that references everyone from Nirvana and The Pixies to late ’90s hardcore acts like Avail — and with plenty of energy to spare. (Damn if I didn’t feel like head-walking after first hearing “Bitch This Ain’t LA.”) Though the Cage connection doesn’t hurt, the duo’s just-released EP has quickly garnered praise from the likes of Consequence of Sound and Antiquiet (we’re loving it too, obvi), and is starting to make a dent overseas. Plastic Visions are putting the attention to good use, hitting the road for a two-week jaunt and stopping back through town for a show that had to be moved from The High Watt due to popular demand.
