There's a new soul sensation in town and her name is Cooper. Originally from the coastal Oregon mountains, Cooper relocated to Nashville in 2011 where her first gig was opening for Wanda Jackson at fashion icon Manuel's birthday bash. She's been writing since the age of 11 and, oh my, she sure can sing! Cooper maintains 10+ piece soul bands with horns on both sides of the country and she's gotta be the only performer on Record Store Day who played at a record store on one side (The Groove here in Nashville) and then flew to the west coast and played another record store (Music Millennium in Portland, OR) on the other side! Cooper debuted with a 7" single on Record Store Day and her full-length debut album is coming out on vinyl June 21st (CD to follow later). We've got her for an in-store the week of release and you really should come check Cooper out if soulful Motown-style ballads and funky upbeat dance tunes sprinkled with rock n' roll guitars and rich harmonies are your kinda thing.
