Faculty Recital: "What Modern Was" Jared Hauser with Melissa RoseClassical
Like the now-classic paintings of Pablo Picasso or Jackson Pollock, many of today’s revered musical standards were once considered cutting-edge — even shocking. Join oboist Jared Hauser as he explores what modern was — groundbreaking 20th century works for oboe that have persevered and become current classics of oboe literature. The program will include the engaging oboe sonatas of Henri Dutilleux's and Francis Poulenc, Vincent Persichetti’s Parabel for Solo Oboe and Witold Lutoslawski’s soulful Epitaph.
