We’ve long maintained that the folks at Lovenoise are the classiest, coolest promoters in town, but on the eve of their tenth anniversary they are rocketing off the scale. In the decade since they burst onto the scene at Cummins Station’s Bar Car — back when Nashville was anything but an “It City,” and getting people to hang out downtown was still a chore rather than the default — Lovenoise brought some of the best R&B, hip-hop and soul to our fair city. And now, to celebrate this most momentous of anniversaries — seriously, how many other promoters have come and gone in that amount of time? — Lovenoise is getting back to its roots. West Coast progressive soul chanteuse Goapele was one of the first national acts to come through way back in the day, and now she’s back to celebrate the big one-zero and lay down the monster jams.
