Red Bull Sound Select Presents

JEFF the Brotherhood w/Deluxin' & Ri¢hie

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

As it turns out, Red Bull gives you more than just wings. The caffeine and taurine pusher is sponsoring this one-off rock-block blowout that gives locals their last chance to see Nashville’s favorite scuzz-punk power duo in 2013 — after tonight, the brothers Orrall return to the studio to cut the follow-up to their 2012 major-label debut, Hypnotic Nights. Tonight’s show also includes a rare opportunity to catch elusive local art-rock quartet Deluxin’. With taut beats, tightly packaged power chords, buzzing riffs and melodies as catchy as they are reliable, Deluxin’s idiosyncratic, off-kilter pep should do the trick in the unlikely event that the Red Bull runs out. Rounding out the bill, Ri¢hie — Middle Tennessee’s finest oddball sorcerer of cosmic, whimsical psych-rock, not to mention one of the scene’s most nimble-fingered guitar players — along with his double-drummer-boasting backup band, turns another welcome set of always heady, often hilarious jams.
