Chuck Mead Album Release

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

I have a theory that anyone who plays authentic honky-tonk music on the TV show Nashville is fated to die, as evidenced by the skinny songwriter dude’s brother getting snuffed in an alley one episode after he sang a Merle Haggard song. If I’m correct, and the producers ever get around to adding a character “inspired” by hillbilly cat Chuck Mead, the poor guy will be pushin’ up daisies before the hour is over. Mead’s latest slab of honky-tonk stomp is the newest installment of the extremely cool “Upstairs at United” series of LPs. The vinyl-only releases are recorded to analog tape, live in the upstairs party room at the venerable United Record Pressing and produced on the presses below. Don’t miss this special release party and performance in one of the few Music City venues where holy hillbilly dust can still be inhaled unfiltered.
