BK and Tony Live Band Karaoke

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

Pianist Tony Crow is obviously a versatile musician — a guy who’s been known to perform “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” with B.J. Thomas and “Your Fucking Sunny Day” with Lambchop in the same week obviously has a firm grasp on a variety of popular musical styles. Who better to tickle the keys for a little live-band karaoke? Throw in drummer to the stars — well, to the Silver Jews, and Tim Chad and Sherry, stars in our book — Brian Kotzur, and you’ve got the fixins for a night of debauched sing-along mayhem. No word if “Raindrops” and “Sunny Day” are on the song list, but we hear gems such as “Islands in the Stream,” “When Doves Cry” and “What a Fool Believes” have made the cut. And requests are welcome, as long as it’s one of the 79 songs they know. Kotzur tells us they’ll have plenty of lyrics on hand, “but you sort of gotta know the song.” But, hey, it’s karaoke! It’s so simple, and so stupid. Are you ready?
