Heartbeater Reunion Show feat. Shoot the Mountain & more

Nashville Scene Critic's Pick …

It’s been two-and-a-half years since local apocalyptic post-punks Heartbeater bid Nashville farewell, calling it quits as singer Greg Mabry moved westward to sunny California. But what’s this? Mabry is coming back for the holidays and the band is getting back together for one last hurrah? It’s a Christmas miracle! Heartbeater reunites at The 5 Spot — the scene of their final gig in 2011 — for this rare reunion show, and they promise they’ll “be getting wild” and will “play all the jams,” including, I can only assume, their awesome grunge-y anthems “Dark Horse Rising” and “Slow Waves.” What more could you possibly ask for? Even more band reunions? Good news, greedy! Fellow temporarily defunct locals Shoot the Mountain round out the bill, cementing a lineup that could have time-traveled from 2010.
